Fujifilm has launched a new medium-format mirrorless camera in the Indian market alongside a new series of zoom lenses. The Fujifilm GFX 100 comes with a 100-megapixel sensor. The Fujifilm GFX 100 is priced in India at Rs 7,86,999. It is being touted as the world’s first medium format camera to feature a 102MP BSI CMOS sensor.

The new camera features a new 102-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor. It is powered by Fujifilm’s X-Processor 4 image processor along with 5-axis in-body stabilization and PDAF (phase detection autofocus system).
The medium-format camera has an ISO range of 100-12,800. It allows you to record 4K videos at up to 30fps. You can also output 10-bit 4:2:2 uncompressed footage over HDMI.
The GFX 100 can be easily used to shoot in various orientations. It comes with a secondary shutter button and dial on the bottom right corner. The dials for shutter speed and ISO have been swapped for an LCD display.
The dual-hinged 3.2-inch touchscreen comes with a 2.36 million dot resolution. The removable OLED EVF is equipped with a 5.76-million dot resolution.
The Fujifilm GFX 100 body is built with a magnesium alloy. The dust/ weather-resistant camera weighs around 1.36kg. Additional features include support for 16-bit RAW files, a USB Type-C port, and two SD card slots (up to UHS-II speeds).

The Fujifilm GFX 100 is the company’s flagship medium format camera. “With the launch of GFX100, we have achieved a great milestone in our digital camera business,” said Haruto Iwata, Managing Director, Fujifilm India.
“I am optimistic that the launch will further enhance our presence in India and we will continue introducing cameras that deliver an unparalleled standard of optical brilliance that is sure to delight a photographer’s fantasy,” he added.
Alongside the new camera, Fujifilm also announced its Premista series of zoom lenses. The new lenses are designed for large format sensors (used in professional video productions).
The Premista 28-100mm T2.9 is priced in India at $38,800 (approx Rs 26,58,537). It will be available in August 2019. Whereas the Premista 80-250mm T2.9-3.5 costs $39,800 (approx Rs 27,27,056). It will be available later this year.
