Fossil has launched a new smartwatch that runs on the Wear OS platform. The new Fossil Sport smartwatch comes with an all-day battery life. The Fossil Sport Smartwatch comes in two dial sizes (41mm and 43mm) and offers 28 interchangeable silicone straps (available in 18mm and 22mm sizes). A unit with the stainless steel strap comes with a price tag of $275 (approx Rs 20,000). Whereas a silicone and leather strap unit is priced at $255 (approx Rs 18,500).
The new wearable is now available in the US via online channels and at partnered retail stores. It comes in six color options – gray, pink, red, blue, green, and black. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price or launch date.

The Fossil Sport Smartwatch is the first smartwatch to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform. The new wearable is touted to come with an all-day battery life. In a low power mode, the battery can extend up to two days.
The Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC was announced in September this year. It consists of quad-core A7 processors, an integrated DSP, and an ultra-low power co-processor QCC1110. The tiny co-processor is optimized for ultra-low power operation. It also integrates a deep learning engine for custom workloads, such as keyword detection. Qualcomm claimed that the new SoC will bring better battery life for the next-gen smartwatches.

The new smartwatch runs on the latest Wear OS platform and comes with Google Assistant for voice assistance. It is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones (with Android OS 4.4 Kit Kat and above or iOS 9.3 and above. Connectivity options include Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
The Fossil Sport Smartwatch features a round dial and an interchangeable silicone strap. It supports customizable dials and several watch faces to match. The swim-proof device also supports Google Pay. Additionally, the wearable comes with a heart rate sensor.

Recently, the company launched Fossil Q Venture HR and Fossil Q Explorist HR in the range of Rs 19,995 to Rs 21,995 (depending on the band and color preference). Both are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and run Wear OS by Google. Both Explorist and Venture devices come with Google Pay support. Fossil claims that the Explorist HR and Venture HR are ‘swim-proof’. However, it does not come with a specified IP-rating.
Tracking features in the new smartwatches include a built-in GPS and a heart-rate sensor. The swim workout tracking also integrates Google Fit. The new devices come with 4GB internal storage (for music playback, etc) and offer a battery life of 24 hours. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1 LE, and Wi-Fi b/g/n.
