1. Try a different port
If you are charging your phone via a USB cable, try changing the port on your computer or a wall adapter. If it starts charging, you have found the problem. A bent in the metal connector in the USB port may be preventing a proper connection with the charging cable. Now, get it fixed with help of a professional.
2. Check the charging cable/ wall adapter
The charging cable is the most common cause of charging problems. Charging cable face the most wear and tear. Try switching the cable for another and see if it helps. The same applies to the wall adapter. If your adapter has a removable cable, the problem might be in its USB port. Try another adapter to see if it’s the source of your worries. If you can’t get your hands on an alternate adapter, try using USB ports on your computer. If it charges, you have found the problem.
3. Check the USB socket
The problem might also be in the USB socket of your phone. To clean the small port, try blowing compressed air into it. It is best to not tinker too much with this socket yourself as you might cause further damage. Still, if you want to try, switch your phone off, and remove the battery first. Now, use a small pin and straighten the small tab inside the USB port on your phone. Be careful.
Next, put your battery back in and power on your handset. If it starts charging you have solved the problem.

Faulty batteries are easy to spot as they start leaking fluid or bulge up. In such case, stop using your phone immediately and get to a repair shop.
