First Tizen OS powered smartphone Samsung Z announced

So finally Samsung announced its much awaited Tizen powered smartphone. Tizen is Samsung’s own operating system; it was developing this new operating system Tizen from a long time to compete with Android, Windows and iOS. Currently, Tizen OS is running on Samsung smart watches and cameras. Now with the Samsung Z smartphone Tizen OS introduced on smartphones too. To compete with other operating systems, Samsung is developing its own app store called Tiznen Store and to attract more developers on this platform, Samsung is also doing some special promotional program for developers. The price of the device is not out yet.

Talking about the specifications of the Samsung Z, Samsung calls it a high end smartphone, with a 4.8-inch HD super AMOLED display and 1280*720pixel resolution screen, the device is 8.5mm thick and weighs 136 grams on board.

The smartphone runs on 2.3GHz quad core processor along with 2GB RAM on board. And it is powered by Tizen 2.2.1 operating system. There is an 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera at back along with LED flash. There is a 2.1-megapixel front unit as well on board for video calling and selfie. The smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage along with up too 64GB memory card support.

On the connectivity front, it does come equipped with almost every feature of connectivity like 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS along with GLONASS and NFC as well.

The Samsung Z smartphone comes with Heart Rate sensor, Fingerprint sensor, S Health 3.0 and Download Booster as well. The 2600mAh battery of Samsung Z comes with Ultra Power saving mode as well. The Samsung Z will be available in Black and Gold colours starting from Russia in the third quarter of 2014, followed by other market as well. But before that Samsung may show off this device at the Tizen Dev Conference as well in San Francisco this month.
