In today’s digital age, contactless payments have become increasingly popular, and one of the most popular methods is NFC (Near Field Communication).
If you’re an Android smartphone user and a Paytm user, you can easily enable Paytm Tap to make NFC payments on your device. In this tutorial, we will show you how to do just that.
Step 1: Make sure your phone has NFC capabilities
Before you can enable Paytm Tap, you need to ensure that your smartphone has NFC capabilities. Most modern Android devices come with NFC built-in, but if you’re not sure, you can check by going to your phone’s settings and looking for the “NFC” option. If you don’t see it, your device may not have NFC capabilities.
Step 2: Download the Paytm app
To use Paytm Tap, you will need to have the Paytm app installed on your device. You can download the app from the Google Play Store. Once the app is downloaded and installed, open it and sign in to your Paytm account.
Step 3: Enable Paytm Tap
To enable Paytm Tap, go to the app’s services menu and select “Tap to Pay”. You will then be prompted to turn on your device’s NFC capabilities. Once NFC is enabled, you can then activate Paytm Tap.
Step 4: Add your debit or credit card
To make payments using Paytm Tap, you will need to add a debit or credit card to your account. To do this, go to the “Paytm Wallet” section of the app and select “Add Card”. You will need to enter your card details on the next screen, and tap ‘Proceed to Verify Card‘. Make sure to read and accept the card issuer’s Terms of Service. Then, enter the One Time Password (OTP) to complete the activation of Tap to Pay.
Step 5: Make a Payment
Now that you have enabled Paytm Tap and added a card to your account, you can start making payments. Unlock your smartphone and make sure the NFC is turned on. When making a payment, simply hold your phone near the merchant’s NFC terminal, near the contactless payment logo. The payment will be automatically processed, and you will receive a notification confirming the transaction.
NOTE
Do not remove your smartphone until the transaction is completed. Check your smartphone screen for a message informing you of a successful transaction. Additionally, for transactions above Rs. 5000, enter your PIN on the PoS machine.
