Coolpad has launched its latest smartphone- Coolpad Note 3 Lite in the Indian market. The Note 3 Lite, as the name suggests, is a toned down version of the Coolpad Note 3. Priced at Rs. 6,999, it will go on sale exclusively on Amazon.in starting January 28, 2016. Registration for the first flash sale will open today, January 15, 2016.

On design front, the Note 3 Lite looks similar to the Coolpad Note 3 except some difference in size. The Note 3 Lite is smaller than the older sibling. Overall design of the phone is subtle. It has golden metal frame on the front. The removable rear panel is made of plastic and has criss-cross pattern for better grip.

On the front, there is a 5-inch HD display with resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The 5-inch HD display is sharp and bright. Sunlight legibility of the screen is good. Color reproduction and contrast of the display are impressive. Above the display, there is sensor, earpiece, front camera and LED notification. There are three touch capacitive buttons below the display which are not back-lit.

Top edge houses 3.5mm audio jack.

Charging port and microphone are placed on the bottom edge.

Volume rockers are on the left edge.

Power button is on the right edge.

On the rear of the phone, there is secondary microphone for noise cancellation, 13 mega pixel primary camera, LED flash, fingerprint scanner, Coolpad branding and speaker mesh. The speakers are loud and clear.

The fingerprint sensor is enclosed in a shiny frame. The fingerprint sensor supports 360 recognition and is very accurate. The handset comes with fingerprint lock app such that you can lock applications or folders which will open only when you authenticate them.

Removing the rear panel of the phone gives access to non-removable battery, two SIM card slots and microSD card slot. It is backed up by a 2500mAh battery which should survive for one full day on moderate usage.

As for performance, it is powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. On testing the phone on An tu tu benchmarks, we got score of around 28000 points. The phone is very smooth to use but stutters a bit while multitasking or playing moderate to heavy games. The Coolpad Note 3 Lite comes with 16GB of internal memory (around 10.5GB is user avaiable) which can be expanded further using microSD card.

For photography freaks, it comes with a 13 mega pixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera. The front camera is just average and the images taken by front camera have average detailing and clarity. The rear camera however is impressive which takes stunning shots.

The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system wrapped under Cool UI. It supports USB OTG and comes with LED notification on the top. You can also move applications to SD card. It comes with a lot of features such as it allows you to run applications in split screen mode. There is also a ‘C’ button which gives accessible features and toggles on home screen. It comes with a long standby feature which is like ultra power saving mode. It turns the display to black and white to save battery when you are on the go.
