The Coolpad Mega 5A is priced in India at Rs 6,999. It will be exclusively available in the offline market including Andhra Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh. Sales start on August 16.

The Coolpad Mega 5A sports a 5.47-inch IPS InCell display with HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC9850K processor and 2GB RAM. The 16GB internal storage can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB). It is backed by a 2,500mAh battery.
In terms of optics, the new handset sports a vertically stacked dual camera setup on the back. It uses an 8-megapixel primary sensor and a 0.3-megapixel VGA secondary sensor. Camera features include f/2.0 aperture, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), and LED flash. The 5-megapixel front camera comes with selfie flash.

The Coolpad Mega 5A runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The budget handset measures 148 x 70.7 x 8.9mm and weighs 148 grams. It features a full metal body design and comes in a single Gold color option. The Face Unlock feature is accompanied by a fingerprint sensor. Sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.

The new smartphone follows the Coolpad Mega 4A which was launched in April this year. The Coolpad Mega 5A will compete in the offline budget segment with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 5A.
