Coolpad To Enter India With Dazen Brand Of Smartphones On May 28

Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad is all set to make its foray into the Indian market. The company has started sending out invites for an event scheduled on 28th May in New Delhi where it is likely to launch its first smartphone for India. Though there is no information on which handset is Coolpad going to launch, rumors suggest that it could be Tiptop Pro phone with bezel-less design which was recently launched in China. Furthermore, the company is likely to come up with smartphones with prices ranging between Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 20,000 to compete with other players in the market like Meizu, Asus, Xiaomi and upcoming Phicomm brand.

ZTE Nubia India Launch Set For May 19: Details Inside

ZTE Nubia series is all set to debut in the Indian market. The company has sent out invites for an event scheduled on May 19, 2015 where it is likely to launch the Nubia series. Furthermore, Nubia has launched an official website for India and announced its partnership with Amazon India. The company has also launched a teaser of the upcoming phone.

Nubia has not revealed which smartphone it is going to launch but rumors suggest that the company could launch its flagship device Nubia Z9 which was launched in China earlier in May 2015 and Nubia Z9 Max and Z9 Mini which were introduced in China in March 2015.

Micromax & OnePlus Dispute Over Cyanogen OS Resolved

Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has resolved the legal dispute with Indian handset manufacturer Micromax. OnePlus, in an official statement announced that the legal proceedings between the two companies, Micromax & OnePlus have been resolved as well as both the companies have withdrawn the cases with mutual consent. As a result OnePlus One users will continue to get OTA updates from Cyanogen in-line with its users in other global markets. The controversy began in December 2014 when Cyanogen partnered with Micromax and gave exclusive rights to Micromax to sell Cyanogen OS based smartphones in India.

World’s First Microsoft Priority Reseller Store Launches In India

Microsoft has initiated the transition of Nokia branded outlets to Microsoft with the launch of first ever Microsoft Priority Reseller Store and India has become the first country to get this store. The first ever Microsoft Priority Reseller located at Ambience Mall, Gurgoan, India has been unveiled by Chris Weber, Corporate Vice President, Mobile Device Sales at Microsoft.

Microsoft has also announced that a total of 15,684 retail outlets and 324 care centers worldwide will get a makeover. Out of these, 3,287 of the retail outlets will get a complete makeover including new furniture and signage while rest of the stores will get refreshed to Microsoft branding with new signage.

Facebook Launches Voice Calling In Messenger App

In a bid to take on Skype and Hangout apps, Facebook has announced the launch of voice calling in messenger app. Facebook’s new voice calling feature will allow the users to make free video calls and have face to face conversations with the one’s in their friend list. Android and iOS users with Facebook messenger app on their mobile phone can make video calls using this feature.

To initiate a video call, the user will just have to tap on the video icon located at the top right corner of the screen during a messenger conversation or chat. Airtel Introduces Free Voice-Calling Packs For Broadband Customers

Bharti Airtel has announced the launch of new free voice-calling packs exclusively for its broadband customers in the country. As of now, Airtel has introduced two plans which allow broadband customers to call on any network across the country for free.

The first plan costs Rs. 49/- per month and offers unlimited free local calls while the second plan costs Rs. 99/- per month and allows unlimited free STD as well as local calls. Users can make calls to any network across the country on both mobile phone and landline for free. It seems to be quite a good initiative from Airtel to foster its landline business in the country.
