Lenovo & Motorola Start Smartphone Manufacturing In India

Lenovo, at a press briefing in India today has announced that it will start smartphone manufacturing in India as its commitment to Make In India campaign. Lenovo owned Motorola has already started manufacturing in India. The Motorola Moto E and Lenovo K3 Note will now be manufactured at the Sriperumbudur, Chennai plant in India. While Moto E has already started being manufactured at the plant, the K3 Note will follow soon.

Furthermore, for the current financial year, Motorola and Lenovo will generate a capacity of 6 million units. Lenovo and Motorola both will have separate manufacturing lines at the same facility in Chennai.

Huawei Honor Smartphones To Come With SOS Feature

Honor, a brand under Huawei has announced that it will embed SOS feature in its Honor smartphones in India.

The SOS feature will act as an emergency alarm. It will send SMS to three numbers which users will have to pre-set. Users can choose the action to activate the feature. In case of emergency, users will be able to send their location to the pre-set numbers. The SOS feature will be embedded in upcoming batches of Honor smartphones. The Honor smartphones which have been already sold will also get the feature by updating software. The feature will be embedded in existing smartphones including- Honor 6 Plus, Honor 4X, Honor 4C and Honor 6.

LG G4 And G4 Stylus Get Price Cut In India

LG has announced reduction in the prices of LG G4 and G4 Stylus smartphones for the festive season in India. The flagship LG G4 smartphone will be available to buy for Rs. 45,000 for Leather Back variant and Rs. 40,000 for Ceramic White variant instead of its original price of Rs. 51,000. The LG G4 Stylus which was launched in July 2015 for Rs. 24,990 can now be grabbed for Rs. 21,000.

To recall, the LG G4 is powered by a 64-bit 1.8 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. Running Android 5.1 OS with LG UX 4.0, it features a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS Quantum (2560×1440 pixels) display. Motorola has announced the launch of its door step service, Moto Xpress for the customers in Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida. Moto Xpress is a home pick and drop service which aims to deliver after sales service to Motorola customers at their doorsteps.

The company claims to resolve issues related to software and accessory of the smartphones within an hour while the issues related to hardware will be resolved within five working days. To avail this service, customers will have to pay Rs. 199 per service plus repairing charges or any other component charges.
