Lava has been emerging slowly as one of the better performers amidst the Indian and Chinese manufacturers who are crowding the budget tablet, phablet and smartphone game with each passing day. And in an attempt to further improve its grasp over the segment, Lava has launched their first ever tablet with 3G and voice calling functionality in India. And yes, it is a 7 inch tablet. The screen has a resolution of 800×480 pixels and it will sell for Rs. 9,499.

The Lava E-Tab connect has a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A ARM Cortex A5 processor which will take care of the processing department and will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. But yes the highlight is the SIM card slot which will help you use 3G on the tablet and also make calls. There’s a primary camera for clicking pictures with a 2.0 megapixel resolution and the secondary camera has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels which will come in handy for video-calling.

Zync has announced three new tablets named as Dual 7.0, Quad 8.0 and Quad 9.7 in India. These tablets have been named on the basis of their screen sizes and processor specs and priced accordingly below ₹14,000.

The Dual 7.0 as the name suggests sports a 7-inch WVGA multi-touch capacitive screen offering 800×480 pixels resolution and packs in a 1.6GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM. Other features include a 2-megapixel back camera and 0.3-megapixel front camera with 8GB internal memory and a 3000mAh battery.

BSNL And Pantel T-Pad 7 Inch Tablet Launched At Rs. 6,999

The Indian budget tablet segment sees a launch almost everyday with some or the other company launching a tablet that’s better than the one that was launched yesterday and that too at a lower price. The latest budget tablet to be launched in the country is the Pantel T-Pad WS708C which has a screen of 7 inches and will sell for Rs.6,999 and comes courtesy of Pantel Technologies which has also entered into a partnership with BSNL, the telecom giant of the country.

The budget tablet’s USP will be the fact that it would run Jelly Bean and will offer calling functionality as well. It has a single core 1 GHz processor of Cortex A9 architecture and has a Mali 400 3D Accelerator GPU as well. What could restrict the performance of this very capable device is the fact that it has a 512 MB RAM. There is an internal storage of 4GB available and there’s a microSD card slot as well on offer to expand the memory upto 32 GB.

Samsung’s share in the tablet market has been worst hit in India in recent times with the Indian electronics manufacturers raising the bar so high that Samsung’s well priced products seem to look overpriced and underpowered for the price they command. So in a bid to regain the lost share, Samsung has reduced the prices of its budget tablet, Galaxy Tab 2 P3110 which comes in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi and 3G avatars. The price drop places the Samsung offering at par with the ones from Indians manufacturers.

The Wi-Fi version of the tablet, Tab 2 P3111 which currently sells for Rs.13,999 now sees a reduction in price and will now sell for Rs.12,999 which is the price at which most of the decently specced budget tablets retail. The Wi-Fi and 3G version, Tab 2 P3110, which has been selling for a price of around Rs.18,000-19,000 in the Indian market, will sell for Rs.15,999 which makes it quite the VFM tablet in the price range and voice calling functionality adds to its appeal.
