Gionee Elife S6 With 5.5-inch Display, USB Type-C Launched In China: Price & Specifications

Gionee has taken the wraps off its latest smartphone, dubbed the Gionee Elife S6 in China. Though not as thin as the previous smartphones in the S line up of Gionee, the Elife S6 has thickness of mere 6.9mm. Moreover, with thin bezels, it has display to body ratio of 77.8%.

As for specifications, it is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali T-720 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Running Android 5.1.1 operating system wrapped under AMIGO OS 3.1, it features a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels.

InFocus M812, M370 To Receive Android Marshmallow Update By December 2015

InFocus has announced that its InFocus M812 and M370 smartphones will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update by the end of this year. Both handsets will thus, run the latest version of Android by December 2015.

To recall, both smartphones were launched back in July 2015 and went on sale lately. The InFocus M812 is priced at Rs. 19,999 and the InFocus M370 costs Rs. 5,999. OnePlus Devices To Get Android Marshmallow Update In Q1 2016

OnePlus has finally announced the schedule for the roll out of Android Marshmallow update for its smartphones. While the company has not shared specific dates for the roll out, it has revealed that the OnePlus devices will get Marshmallow update in early 2016.

LG has announced the launch of LG Spirit LTE and LG G4 Stylus 4G smartphones in India. Highlight of these smartphones is that they support VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) and VoWiFi (Voice Over Wi-Fi) allowing faster transmission of data and voice. While the former is based on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network, with specific profile for control and media planes of voice service, the latter allows interoperability of a handset between Wi-Fi and cellular service.

Swipe has expanded its smartphone portfolio with the launch of Swipe Junior. Unlike other smartphones available in the Indian market, the Junior is targeted at children aged between 5-15 years.

Micromax has introduced a new smartphone in its Canvas series, called the Micromax Canvas Blaze 4G+ Q414. The device is listed on company’s official website and is available to buy from eBay.in. Some of the specifications of the device listed on eBay however do not match what is mentioned on official website.

As per the official website listing, the Canvas Blaze 4G+ Q414 is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6735M processor clocked at 1GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Running Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, it features a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display with resolution of 854×480 pixels.

Xiaomi India Introduces Mi Protect Plan Starting At Rs. 275

Xiaomi India has announced the launch of Xiaomi Mi Protect plan in India. As the name suggests, Mi Protect refers to Xiaomi’s insurance service for its devices. This service covers accidental and liquid damage.

With this plan, customers will get cashless repairs of their Xiaomi devices at authorized service centers in India. Besides cashless repairs, the company has also announced several other benefits on purchase of Xiaomi Mi Protect service. The price of the Mi Protect starts from Rs. 275 and goes up to Rs. 499 depending on the device model.
