The new camera model comes with Canon’s RF lens mount. It is also compatible with a new Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x (works with a range of EF lens series).
To help cinematographer/ videographers quickly change their recording settings, Canon has added a Direct Touch Control function along with vertical shooting options.
The Canon EOS C70 also supports 4K/ 120p video recording via a CMOS DGO (Dual Gain Output) sensor. Let’s take a closer look:

Specifications and Features
The new camera features 4K Super 35mm CMOS DGO sensor. It is designed to read each pixel at two distinct gain levels to deliver enhanced results.
The Canon EOS C70 can capture high dynamic range (HDR) images of up to 16+ stops with low noise. It also allows users to capture 4K videos in 4:2:2 (10-bit) colour.
Canon’s Digic DV7 image processor supports for recording 4K/ 120p and 2K/ 180p videos and storing them on UHS-II standard SD cards. Users can also record content in Canon’s XF-AVC or MP4 (H.265) codecs.
The new camera comes with the company’s in-house Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology (offers Intelligent Tracking and Recognition System) and a Face Detection AF.
The new EOS iTR AF X algorithm improves subject detection and tracking. It also supports head detection.
The highlight of the Canon EOS C70 is the RF Mount. It is aimed to allow cinematographers/ videographers to pick a range of future-proof lenses.
The Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x allows you to add EF lenses. It brings a 1-stop gain in light transmission through a built-in, miniaturised optical system.

Additional features include a headphone jack, USB Type-C port, dual SD card slot, two mini XLRs, audio control dials, and a full HDMI terminal.
There is also a vari-angle LCD with touch support and a tripod mount into the vertical grip (lets you mount it in a portrait orientation).
The Canon EOS C70 ships with a removable top-handle. This allows users to record low-angle shots. A forward-mounted Mic Holder lets you place a gun mic.
The new camera measures 160 x 130 x 116mm and weighs 1.43 kilograms. An air intake system maintains the temperature while recording videos for long hours.

Price and Availability

The Canon EOS C70 is priced in the US at $5499 (approx Rs 4,05,000). It will be available in November this year.
The Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x will be available at $599.99 (approx Rs 44,100). As of now, there is no information about the Indian price and launch date.
