Why Huawei Honor 6 Is A Flagship Killer?

Huawei’s Honor series is a killer value for money across the range. It will not be wrong to say that Huawei Honor 6 is a flagship killer. I say this because it is presently one of the best loaded phones for half the price of most flagship phones form major brands. Just to name a few points here, the Honor 6 comes with 3GB of RAM and superb full HD IPS display. It gets very high performance CPU (with benchmark score of 41,000+ on Antutu Version 5.3), super slim form factor of under 8 mm, no heating issues unlike many other flagships and features one of the largest battery in the segment, which is 3100 mAh. Here I will do a quick spec comparison of the Huawei Honor 6 with some of the most acclaimed flagships like HTC One M8, Moto X 2014 and Samsung Galaxy S5. All these phones are priced 1.5 to 2 times higher than the Honor 6 when we compile this comparison and yet the Honor 6 comes out to be really close in terms of features or rather ahead in many aspects like battery life and RAM.

Airtel Rolls Back VoIP Data Packs, Unclear On Whether VoIP Charges Will Stay!

In an outrage which spread after Airtel mentioned that the VoIP calls, which are Slype, Viber, Google Hangout and other voice calls over data, will be charged over and above the data packs, Airtel had to finally come out with an official communication to clear its stand about Net Neutrality.

Updated on 29th December 2014

This morning we got another press note from Airtel India which is as follows:

In view of the news reports that a consultation paper will be issued shortly by TRAI on issues relating to services offered by OTT players including VOIP, we have decided not to implement our proposed launch of VoIP packs.

We have no doubt that as a result of the consultation process a balanced outcome would emerge that would not only protect the interests of all stakeholders and viability of this important sector but would also encourage much needed investments in spectrum and roll out of data networks to fulfil the objective of digital India.

Why Ban On Xiaomi In India Is No Big Deal?

You must have read the news that the Delhi High Court has banned the import and selling of Xiaomi phones in India after a patent infringement case filed by Ericsson. If you have been worried because you just bought a Xiaomi phone or have ordered one recently, don’t worry too much. The reason I say this is because this is not the only patent infringement case in the world and this is not for the first time it has happened to a mobile phone brand in India. There have been similar infringement cases against brands like Micromax, Intex and a few more which never made it to news reports but were settled in or out of courtrooms in the past.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Long Terms User Review & Impressions

After using the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for over 3 weeks as my primary phone, I have a lot more to share than the first impressions and features. Which is why I write this post here with some of the key experiences of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 here. I will talk more about the experiences and quality I get from this phone rather than number crunching here. Lets get started.

Design, Feel and Build

If you are upgrading to a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from other Samsung phone (except Galaxy Alpha), or any other regular phone, you will feel a world of difference when you hold the phone in hands. Just looking at it will not give you that confidence inspiring sturdiness until you hold the phone in your hand and feel the strength of the metal casing all around the Note 4. It feels solid, strong and very sturdy as soon as you pick it up in your hand. Yes, you may find it big and bulky if you are coming from a small phone, but if you are already using a 5 inch or larger display phone, you won’t notice the bulk. In the nutshell, the phone is very nicely built and feel very good to hold. I have also accidentally dropped it a couple of times with almost no visible damage at all. So when it comes to design, feel and build, Note 4 has got the right balance.
