Last month, Asus officially announced its ZenFone 6 smartphone. Now, it is all set to arrive in the Indian market (as Asus 6z). The new handset comes with a rotating dual camera module. The Asus ZenFone 6 is priced at EUR 499 (approx Rs 39,100) for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. While the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model costs EUR 559 (approx Rs 43,800), the 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant comes with a price tag of EUR 599 (approx Rs 47,000).
The Asus ZenFone 6 will be launched in India as the ‘Asus 6z’ on June 19. Asus has been restrained by Delhi High Court from selling and advertising devices under the Zen, ZenFone or any other identical trademark. As of now, there is no information about the Indian price tag.

The Asus ZenFone 6 is backed by a huge 5,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0 technology. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with up to 8GB RAM and Adreno 640 GPU.
The 256GB internal storage (UFS 2.1) can be further expanded via a dedicated microSD card slot (up to 2TB).
Camera
The new handset sports dual camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.79, laser focus), 13-megapixel secondary sensor (ultra-wide-angle), and a dual-LED flash.
However, the highlight of the ZenFone 6 is the rotating camera module. The motorized rear camera simply rotates vertically to face the user of the phone. Users can even control the amount of rotation to take photos at interesting angles. The camera module automatically retracts to its base position if the sudden movement is detected.

The Asus ZenFone 6 runs Android Pie operating system with Zen UI 6 on top. The company promises an upgrade to Android Q and Android R. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5), Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
The dual-SIM smartphone features a 6.4-inch IPS display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 92 percent screen-to-body ratio. It comes with 600 nits peak brightness, and 100 DCI-P3 color gamut.
The handset measures 159.1 x 75.11 x 8.1-9.1mm and weighs 190 grams. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on the front. The rear panel features a 3D-curved glass. The new handset comes in two color options – Midnight Black and Twilight Silver.
The dual stereo speakers come with dual smart amplifiers. Additional features include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, and a notification LED light.
