Asus & Intel in a joint event in New Delhi India have launched two new products on 29th October 2013 including an Ultraportable Transformer Book T100 and next generation Fonepad 7 at Rs. 34,099 and Rs. 17499 respectively. Both these devices will go on sale in India from November 2013.
Asus Transformer Book T100 Video Review And Features
Asus Transformer T100 is a hybrid tablet cum laptop device which is powered by Windows 8.1 OS and Intel Quad Core Atom processor. It has a 10.1 inch display and weighs around 1.1 Kg (tab at 550 g and dock at 520 g). The efficient Z3740 Bay Trail family processor helps to extract up to 11 hours of battery life from this device.
It offers Intel Gen7 graphics, has 2GB RAM, 1.2 MP front camera and full capacitive multi-touch touchscreen. It is a portable machine designed for usage for users who like a light weight machine on the go and at the same time use it as a full features PC by connecting it to the dock which adds full size keyboard to it.
Asus Next Generation Fonepad 7 Video Review And Features
Asus has refreshed the Fonepad with new hardware and improved performance compared to the first generation Fonepad which was launched in India earlier this year. Its a 7 inch tablet with full features phone functionality and 3G/HSPA+ Data support for high speed data connectivity on the go.
The new Fonepad uses an Intel Atom 1.6 GHz dual core Z2560 processor with hyper-threading technology for superior performance. It has 1GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. It has a 5 MP rear camera and 1.2 MP front facing camera. It has a battery capacity of 3950 mAh which should be able to deliver one full day of usage on moderate usage.
The 7 inch display has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels with IPS technology for better viewing angles. It runs using the Android 4.2 jelly bean OS.
Our Take On T100 and Next Gen Fonepad 7
With light weight and Windows 8.1 functionality, T100 looks promising specially with a large battery life and full size keyboard dock with HD display. At price of under Rs. 35,000 it does look appealing at the price with a touch screen.
Next Generation Fonepad 7 which is priced at Rs. 17499 has a lot of competition to face in India from products like Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7 inch, Micromax Canvas Tab and a lot more tablets which you can get in a price of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 18,000 bracket.
