Asus has launched its new tablet Asus Fonepad 7 (FE375CL). The highlight of this device is that it is the first Fonepad series tablet to be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. Under the hood, Fonepad 7 (FE375CL) is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad-core Intel Atom Z3530 processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. Running on Android 5.0, it features a 7 inch WXGA IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and Anti-fingerprint coating. The Fonepad 7 (FE375CL) will be available in two variants based on storage- 8 GB and 16 GB, both of which are expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card. On storage front, it sports a 5 mega pixel auto focus rear camera and a 2 mega pixel front facing camera for capturing selfies and making video calls. As far as connectivity is concerned, it includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS & AGPS.
The tablet further packs a 3950 mAh battery which is claimed to deliver up to 12 hours of video playback time, up to 22.5 hours of talk time on 3G network and up to 397 hours of standby time. It measures 108.9 x 194.3 x 9.8 mm and weighs 299 grams.

Earlier this year, in January 2015, Asus had also launched Asus Fonepad 8 in India. Fonepad 8 is powered by Quad-Core Intel Atom Z3530 processor clocked at 1.33 GHz paired with 2 GB of RAM. Other specifications of the device include 8 inch IPS display, Android 4.4 KitKat OS, 5 mega pixel auto focus rear camera, 2 mega pixel secondary camera, 16 GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 64 GB via microSD card) and 4000 mAh battery.
Price and Availability
The Asus Fonepad 7 (FE375CL) will go on sale in Taiwan first at starting price of $250 (Rs.15,500 approximately). Details about pricing and availability of the tablet in other markets have not been revealed yet. Stay tuned with us for more updates!
