Apple has announced the launch of its latest smartphone- Apple iPhone SE. Priced at Rs. 39,000 (16GB variant), the iPhone ‘special edition’ features a 4-inch display. It draws its design and specifications from existing Apple line-up. The design of the iPhone SE is reminiscent of the iPhone 5s while it draws its specifications from the iPhone 6s.

Design
On design front, both iPhone 5s and iPhone SE look identical. The iPhone SE comes with matte finish for better grip and will also be available in Rose Gold color option in addition to Silver, Space Gray and Gold color variants. The iPhone 6s has a different design. It comes with rounded edges and looks premium in hand.
Processor & RAM
The iPhone SE and iPhone 6s are powered by a powerful Apple A9 processor. The iPhone 6s houses 2GB of RAM. iPhone 5s lags in this department with Apple A7 processor and 1GB of RAM. iPhone SE s expected to pack 2GB of RAM.
Display
The iPhone SE and iPhone 5s, both feature a 4-inch display with 1136×640 pixels resolution. The iPhone 6s comes with a larger 4.7-inch 3D touch display with screen resolution of 1334×750 pixels. All the three phones have pixel density of 326ppi. Both iPhone SE and 5s lack 3D touch feature and are ideal for those looking for a compact smartphone.
Camera
The iPhone SE and iPhone 6s both sport a 12 mega pixel iSight camera on the rear while iPhone 5s comes with an 8 mega pixel primary camera. As for front camera, the iPhone 5s and iPhone SE sport a 1.2 mega pixel camera while iPhone 6s has a 5 mega pixel front shooter.
Storage
The iPhone SE will be available in 16GB and 64GB storage variants. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 5s are available in 16/64/128GB and 16/32/64GB storage variants.
Battery
The iPhone 6s is backed up by a 1715mAh battery and iPhone 5s is fueled by a 1560mAh battery. The iPhone SE is expected to pack same battery capacity as the iPhone 5s.
Fingerprint Sensor
All the three phones feature fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button. The iPhone 6s however, comes with second generation Touch ID fingerprint sensor which is much faster than the other two phones.

The iPhone 5s lags behind in every department and is also priced lower than the other two phones. Both iPhone SE and iPhone 6s are pretty similar in terms of specifications. They pack powerful A9 processor, 12 mega pixel iSight camera and Always on Siri feature. They pack a number of differences as well such as screen size, front camera, battery capacity, weight and more. The iPhone SE is priced at Rs. 39,000 for the 16GB variant while the 16GB variant of iPhone 6s is also available for a price as low as Rs. 40,000.
Called as the ‘special edition’, it boasts of the latest hardware and is said to be the most powerful 4-inch smartphone ever. iPhone SE is suitable for those who like compact smartphones.
