Apple has announced a new generation of its iPad Pro range. Highlights of the new tablets include a sleeker design (thinner bezels, no home button), Face ID tech (Animoji/ Memoji), faster Apple A12X Bionic chip (with a 7-core Apple graphics chip). The premium tablets come in two sizes – 11.0-inch and 12.9-inch. Both models come in 64GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The price of 11-inch Apple iPad Pro 2018 starts at $799 (approx Rs 58,800). Whereas the 12.9-inch variant comes with a starting price of $999 (approx Rs 73,500).
In India, the new 11-inch iPad Pro cost Rs 71,900. The 12.9-inch model will be available at a starting price of Rs 89,900. While there is no official launch date as yet, Apple promises that the new iPad range will arrive in India later this year. In the US, the iPad Pro will be available from November 7.

The new iPad Pro models are powered by the company’s in-house Apple A12X Bionic 7nm 8-core processor and a 7-core GPU. The new SoC has more than 10 billion transistors. It offers 2x the graphics performance compared to last year’s Apple A11X.
Additionally, a neural engine in the A12X Bionic chip allows machine learning to help you access UI elements and apps in an enhanced manner.
The 12-megapixel rear camera comes with improved True Tone LED flash and supports 4K video recording at 60fps. The premium tablet comes with 10-hour battery life and ships with an 18W power adapter.

The new Apple iPad Pro 2018 sports 11.0-inch/ 12.9-inch LCD ProMotion Liquid Retina display with rounded corners (via the pixel masking technology seen in the iPhone XR) and 120Hz refresh rates. Both models are about 5.9mm thick.
The TrueDepth camera supports Face ID technology. It also comes with support for Animoji and Memoji (works in both portrait and landscape mode). The new iPad Pro models come with a four-speaker setup (with two woofers and two tweeters) that offer wider stereo sound.
While the new iPad Pro lacks a home button, it comes with support for iPhone X-like gesture navigation. Additionally, it uses a USB Type-C port for charging, data transfer, and external connectivity. The iPad Pro can also act as a power bank to charge your iPhone via a USB Type-C to Lighting cable.

The Apple Pencil now attaches magnetically to the new iPad Pro and supports automatic wireless charging (when connected). It is priced in India at Rs 10,990.
A new Smart Folio folio case comes with open-to-wake and close-to-sleep functionality. It is priced at Rs 7,500 and Rs 9,900 for the 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes respectively. Additionally, the Smart Keyboard Folio allows you to prop up the iPad at two different angles. It is priced at Rs 15,900 and Rs 17,900 for the 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes respectively.
