The new smart display features a 5.5-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 960 x 480-pixels. It is powered by a MediaTek MT8163 chipset. The new device offers mostly similar as its more expensive alternative.
The Amazon Echo Show 5 allows you to communicate with Amazon’s Alexa AI assistant via voice commands. The smart display allows users to get visual cues to Alexa’s verbal responses. You can activate a number of Alexa skills for a number of functions.
The smart display-cum-speaker comes in two color options (White and Black). It comes equipped with a 1-megapixel camera and a single 1.65-inch full-range speaker. For privacy, the camera’s physical shutter and microphone can be turned off with a button.
The Amazon Echo Show 5 can be used to stream music, place video calls, watch TV shows/ movies, and control compatible smart devices. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It can also be used as a regular wireless speaker with compatible smartphones, tablets, and computers.

The 10-inch Amazon Echo Show comes integrated with a smart Home Hub and Alexa assistant. The HD screen is optimized for streaming videos, TV shows, and movies (on Amazon Prime Video). It is supported by Dual, side-firing 2 Neodymium for speakers with Dolby processing.
For HD video calling, the smart display sports a 5-megapixel front camera. You can chat with your friends/ family via the Echo Spot, Echo Show or using Alexa on their smartphones. The company claims that the eight ‘far-field’ microphones can detect your voice in ambient sound conditions.

Apart from videos, the smart display allows you to stream music through Gaana, JioSaavn and Amazon Prime Music. It can also play news briefings and sports update. Other functions include the Alexa support (can be customized based on your needs) and home surveillance.
The Echo Show can browse through inbuilt browsers (Silk and Firefox). While using the hands-free, you can even ask for daily horoscopes, find recipes, view Facebook photos, movie trailers, or book a cab through Ola.
