At IFA 2017 in Berlin, Alcatel has added four more smartphones to its portfolio. The additions to the company’s ‘Idol’ and ‘A’ series include Alcatel Idol 5S, Alcatel Idol 5, Alcatel A7 XL, and Alcatel A7. The new handsets sport full-HD displays and run Android Nougat operating system. Other features include a full metal design and a fingerprint scanner. The new Alcatel smartphones will come at a starting price of EUR 230 (approx. Rs 17,500). While the Alcatel Idol 5S is priced at EUR 399.99 (approx Rs 30,500), the Alcatel Idol 5 comes at EUR 239.99 (approx. Rs 18,200). The Alcatel A7 and the Alcatel A7 XL are priced at EUR 229.99 (approx Rs 17,500) and EUR 279.99 (approx Rs 21,300), respectively.
While the Alcatel Idol 5S and Idol 5 will be available this month in Europe, the Alcatel A7 and A7 XL will come in November. As of now, there is no information about Indian launch and price of the new devices.

It is powered by an Helio P20 octa-core processor along with ARM Mali-T880 MP2 GPU and 3GB RAM. The 32GB internal storage can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 256GB). It is backed by a 2850mAh battery with fast charging support that offers up to 18 hours of talk time and 504 hours of standby time.
On the camera front, the Alcatel Idol 5S sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus system (PDAF), f/2.0 aperture, and a dual-tone LED flash. Camera features include EIS, slow motion video, night mode, real-time photo and video filters. The handset also features an 8-megapixel front camera with fixed focus, f/2.0 aperture, high CRI flash support, and features like face beauty and selfie panorama.
The Alcatel Idol 5S measure 148 x 72 x 7.5mm, and weighs 147 grams.
