Expanding its Chrome OS based devices portfolio, Acer has announced addition of Acer Chromebase all-in-one desktop. The highlight of the desktop is that it features a touch screen display. As for specifications, the Chromebase is powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor and sports a 21.5-inch 1080p full HD resolution display with 178-degree viewing angle featuring 10-point touch technology. The desktop also houses an in-built webcam for video calling. As far as connectivity is concerned, the device comes with Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI out, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 options. Additionally, the device comes with 100 gigabytes of Google Drive storage.

Acer also launched its Chromebook C910 in March. Specifications of the Chromebook include 15.6-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels resolution) display, 5th Generation Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB inbuilt storage and offers up to 8 hours of battery life. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11AC with MIMO technology, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI port, USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port and SD card reader.
Price and Availability
There is no word on pricing of the device yet, however, the Acer Chromebase will go on sale in North America and Asia-Pacific in second quarter of 2015.
