The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 comes with a starting price of $1,499 (approx Rs 1,10,600). The price of the original Surface Duo started at $1,399 (approx Rs 1,03,200).
The new device will be available in the US from October 5. As of now, the details of the Indian launch date or price tag have not been revealed.
Additionally, Microsoft has launched the Surface Laptop Studio, Surface Pro 8, and Surface Go. The existing Surface Pro 7+ and Surface Pro X have also been upgraded.
The new accessories include Microsoft Surface Slim Pen 2, Surface Adaptive Kit, Ocean Plastic Mouse, and the Microsoft Modern USB-C Headset.

The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor along with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a triple rear camera setup with a 16MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2), a 12MP wide-angle lens (f/1.7, optical image stabilization), a 12MP telephoto lens (f/2.4, OIS), a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor and an LED flash.
For selfies and video calling, the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 features a 12-megapixel front camera sensor (f/2.0). It is backed by a 4449mAh battery that supports proprietary fast charging.

The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 runs Android 11 OS out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/Yes, Bluetooth v5.10, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
In terms of dimensions, the new smartphone measures 145.20 x 92.10 x 11.00mm and weighs 284.00 grams. It comes in Glacier and Obsidian color options.
The 5.80-inch touchscreen display comes with a resolution of 1344 x 1892 pixels. The secondary 5.80-inch touchscreen comes with a resolution of 1344 x 1892 pixels.
When unfolded, the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 offers a larger 8.3-inch display. It comes with a dedicated cover that can attach the Surface Slim Pen.

The dual-screen smartphone is designed to run two apps simultaneously. Microsoft claims that it has worked with game studios to bring 150 optimized games. This includes Asphalt Legends 9, Modern Combat 5, and Dungeon Hunter 5.
Additionally, a glance bar lets you check all the notifications when the phone is folded. You can also check battery levels when charging through the glance bar (without unfolding the phone).
Sensors on the device include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, and proximity sensor.
