The Redmi 8 will be launched in India on October 9. It is expected to be priced at Rs 7,999 for the base model (2GB RAM/ 32GB internal storage).
The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is priced in India at Rs 6,499 for the 2GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage model costs Rs 6,999.

As per recent leaks and reports, the Redmi 8 is said to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor and 3GB RAM. It is likely to run the Android 9 Pie operating system with MIUI 10.0.1.3 on top.
The upcoming smartphone is expected to sport an HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, waterdrop-shaped notch, and a pixel density of 320ppi.
The Redmi 8 is tipped to come with a splash-resistant build with a gradient finish on the back. It will be available in four color options – Ash, Blue, Green, and Red.
In terms of optics, the upcoming handset is tipped to sport a primary Sony sensor. Camera features will include edge detection and skin tone mapping.
Additionally, the Redmi 8 is expected to come with a large battery pack (more than 4,000mAh).
