HMD Global has finally launched its Nokia 7.1 smartphone. Highlights of the new handset include a 19:9 PureDisplay, dual cameras, and a Snapdragon 636 SoC. The Nokia 7.1 is priced in India at Rs 19,999 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB internal storage variant. It will be available in the country from December 7. The 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant has not yet been made available in the Indian market.
As part of launch offers, postpaid Airtel subscribers (on plans worth Rs 499 or higher) will get additional 120GB of data along with a three-month Netflix subscription and a 1-year Amazon Prime subscription. Additionally, customers who purchase the new handset via HDFC credit and debit cards will get 10 percent cashback via eligible offline stores.

The new handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor along with 3GB/ 4GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB internal storage. It is backed by a 3,060mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support (offers 50 percent charge in 30 minutes).
In terms of optics, the Nokia 7.1 sports a dual camera setup on the back. It combines a 12-megapixel primary sensor (autofocus, f/1.8 aperture) and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor (fixed focus, f/2.4 aperture). Camera features include two-phase detection, Zeiss optics, and EIS. The 8-megapixel fixed focus front sensor comes with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree field-of-view.

The dual-SIM smartphone runs Android Oreo OS (based on the Android One programme). The company promises an upgrade to Android 9.0 Pie OS next month. Connectivity options on the Nokia 7.1 include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Nokia 7.1 sports a 5.84-inch PureDisplay panel with full-HD+ (1080 x 2280 pixels) resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, HDR10 support, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It sports a 6000 series aluminum build. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the back. It measures 149.7 x 71.19 x 7.99mm and weighs 159 grams
Sensors on the device include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. It comes in Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel color options.
