LG has finally launched its V40 ThinQ smartphone to India. The flagship smartphone sports five cameras (triple rear cameras + dual front cameras). Additional highlights include an OLED display, iPhone-like notch, and military-grade build with an IP68 rating. The LG V40 ThinQ is priced in India at Rs 60,000 (MRP). However, it is currently available at Amazon.in for Rs 49,990. Amazon is also offering a one-time free screen replacement (worth Rs 16,750) and an additional exchange discount (worth Rs 5,000).
In the US, its price of flagship handset starts at $899.99 (approx Rs 66,400), depending on the mobile carrier.

The LG V40 ThinQ is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and 6GB LPDDR4X RAM. The 128GB UFS2.1 inbuilt storage can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 2TB). The 3,300mAh battery comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and fast wireless charging support.
The new handset sports a 6.4-inch OLED FullVision display with QHD+ (1440 x 3120 pixels) resolution, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also comes with a notch on top (users have the option to hide it as well).
Camera
The triple-camera setup on the back is accompanied by a LED flash. It features a 12-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.5 aperture, 1.4-micron pixel size, and 78-degree viewing angle), 16-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor (f/1.9 aperture, 1-micron pixel size, and 107-degree viewing angle) and a third 12-megapixel sensor (telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, 1-micron pixel size, and 45-degree viewing angle).
Camera features include Dual Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), HDR, and an updated AI Cam mode. The third-gen AI Cam mode can recognize up to 19 subjects and recommends 4 optimized filter options. Additionally, a new Triple Preview feature allows you to take three simultaneous shots and pick the best one.
On the front, the LG V40 ThinQ sports a dual camera setup. It combines an 8-megapixel primary sensor (f/1.9 aperture, 1.4-micron pixel size) with a 5-megapixel wide-angle secondary sensor (f/2.2 aperture, 1.4-micron pixel size).

The new handset measures 158.7 x 75.8 x 7.79mm and weighs 169 grams. It comes in Grey and Blue color options. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the back. Security features also include face recognition.
The LG V40 ThinQ runs Android 8.1 Oreo OS out-of-the-box. Connectivity options on the LG V40 ThinQ include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0 LE, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
