Meizu has launched two new smartphones in China. The new Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus devices come with 18:9 displays, and in-display fingerprint sensors (touted to have 99.12% recognition rate). Both handsets are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and up to 8GB of RAM. The Meizu 16 is priced in China at CNY 2,698 (approx Rs 27,100) for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. While the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model comes with a price tag of CNY 2,998 (approx Rs 30,100), the 8GB RAM/ 128GB option costs CNY 3,298 (approx Rs 33,100).
On the other hand, the Meizu 16 Plus is priced at CNY 3,198 (approx Rs 31,400) for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. While the 8GB RAM/ 128GB model comes with a price tag of CNY 3,498 (approx Rs 35,100), the 8GB RAM/ 256GB option costs CNY 3,998 (approx Rs 40,100).
While the Meizu 16 will be available from August 16, the Meizu 16 Plus will go on sale from August 20.

The Meizu 16 features a 6.0-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) Super AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, 430cd/m2 brightness, and a 402ppi pixel density. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor along with Adreno 630 GPU. The 3010mAh battery supports fast charging via the proprietary mCharge.
In terms of optics, the new smartphone sports a dual camera setup on the back. It combines a 12-megapixel primary 1/2.3-inch Sony IMX380 sensor (wide-angle lens, f/1.8 aperture, PDAF) and a secondary 20-megapixel Sony IMX350 sensor (telephoto lens, f/2.6 aperture). Camera features include a four-axis optical image stabilization (OIS), a 6-LED ring flash, preloaded portrait background blur mode and 3x lossless zoom mode.
