The Nokia X5 is priced in China at CNY 999 (approx Rs 10,200) for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB internal storage variant. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,399 (approx Rs 14,300). On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is priced in India at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant. The 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant bears a price tag of Rs 16,999.
While the Nokia 5.1 Plus (Nokia X5) is yet to be launched in India, it is expected to be slightly cheaper than the Xiaomi handset.

The Nokia X5 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 processor along with 3GB/ 4GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB internal storage. A built-in AI chip enhances GPU performance while playing games.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor along with 4GB/ 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Both devices support a micro SD card slot for storage expansion.
The Nokia handset is backed by a 3060mAh battery. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with huge 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology. In this segment, the Redmi Note 5 Pro has a clear advantage over its Nokia counterpart.
Camera
Both devices sport a dual camera setup on the back. The Nokia handset combines a 13-megapixel primary sensor with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Whereas the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor.
While the Nokia X5 sports an 8-megapixel front camera, the Xiaomi handset comes with a larger 20-megapixel sensor on the front. The Redmi Note 5 Pro is certainly a more attractive device for selfie lovers.

The Nokia X5 runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box with a custom skin on top. The new handset is expected to be part of Android One program in India. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with MIUI 9 on top. Both devices feature standard connectivity options.
Design and Display
The Nokia X5 sports a 5.86-inch HD+ display, whereas the Xiaomi device comes with a 6-inch full-HD+ screen. While the Nokia X5 comes with a slightly smaller screen, it also features an iPhone-like notch on top. It has an 84 percent screen-to-body ratio. Also, a reflective glass panel is present on the front and back.
The Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a dual pyrolytic graphite sheet keeps the device cool during heavy usage. Additionally, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Conclusion
While both devices bring some powerful specs, on paper, the Nokia X5 falls short of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. However, it comes features like edge-to-edge display, all-glass design, dual cameras and a fingerprint sensor. It is also one of the cheapest phones with a notched display.
