Xiaomi has launched a new Lake Blue variant of the Redmi 5A in India. It will join the previously launched Rose Gold, Gold, and Dark Grey colour variants. The new Xiaomi Redmi 5A Lake Blue colour variant comes at a starting price of Rs 5,999 (2GB RAM model). The first sale was of the new model was held on Thursday via Mi.com and Flipkart.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A features a 5.0-inch display with HD (720 x 1280pixels) resolution and a pixel density of 296ppi. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor and 2GB RAM. The 16GB internal storage can be expanded via a micro SD card (up to 128GB). The new smartphone is backed by a 3000mAh battery. However, Xiaomi promises 8-days of battery life.
On the camera front, the new handset features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. Other features include a burst mode, panorama mode, and HDR mode. The handset sports a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture lens.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system with MIUI 9 on top. Additional features include a Smart assistant, Smart app launcher, Image search, Quick reply and notification management, new Home screen enhancements, Lock screen enhancements, and split-screen multitasking.
The new dual-SIM smartphone features a metal-like matte texture and rounded corners for a comfortable grip. It measures 140.4 x 70.1 x 8.4mm and weighs only 137 grams. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB. The new handset lacks a fingerprint sensor. Sensors on the device include a Proximity sensor and an Accelerometer.
