The iPad mini rivaling Galaxy Note 510 or Galaxy Note 8.0 has just gone on sale in India and the device can be ordered from Samsung’s estore for Rs.30,900. The tablet comes in two variants, Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+3G. The Galaxy Note 8.0 has basically the same heart as the Galaxy Note 2 but it has a much bigger screen to power instead. The Galaxy Note 8.0 as the name suggests has a 8.0 inch screen which is a 720p display unit.
Under the hood is a 1.6GHz quad core Exynos processor of Cortex A9 architecture. It will join hands with 2 gigs of RAM to help it multitask pretty well. The tablet runs on the latest version of Android, 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and it is highly likely that will get updates in future as well. The tablet supports calling functionality and in addition to it, has the much famed S-Pen integrated neatly into its back which offers a slew of software goodies.

The S-Pen brings Airview, S Planner, S Note and other similar features. As soon as you take out the S-Pen, the menus and the functionalities associated with it get activated as well. It will get 16GB and 32GB models which will have an option to expand the memory by another 64GB via a microSD card. It will come with a 5.0 megapixel snapper at the back while the front shooter will be a 1.3 megapixel unit which will support video calling.
Samsung has packed in a powerful 4,600 mAh battery in the tablet because it will be used as a calling tablet as well. In addition to 3G and Wi-Fi, it will feature Bluetooth connectivity and GPS for location based services. The tablet is a decent package and surely packs in a punch good enough to eat away into the sales of the iPad mini. But on the other hand, the next generation of iPad mini is due some time soon which is when the competition will start heating up pretty fast.
