Xiaomi has taken the wraps off its Redmi 3 smartphone in China. Priced at CNY 699 (approximately Rs. 7,100), it is available to buy in China. With this price tag, it will compete with the likes of Lenovo Vibe P1m and Samsung Galaxy On5.

Processor & RAM
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The Lenovo Vibe P1m packs a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM while Galaxy On5 comes with a quad-core Exynos 3475 processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM.
Display
This round is a tie. All the four smartphones feature a 5-inch HD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution.
Camera
While the Xiaomi Redmi 3 sports a 13 mega pixel rear camera with dual LED flash, other two smartphones sport an 8 mega pixel auto focus rear camera and a 5 mega pixel front facing camera.
Storage
Xiaomi Redmi 3 and Lenovo Vibe P1m house large 16GB of internal memory compared to 8GB inbuilt storage of Samsung Galaxy On5. The Redmi 3 and Galaxy On5 support expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD card while Lenovo Vibe P1m supports expandable storage up to 32GB.

Although Indian pricing of Xiaomi Redmi 3 is not known yet, it is available to buy in China for CNY 699 (approx. Rs. 7,100). The Lenovo P1m is priced at 7,999 and Samsung Galaxy On5 costs Rs. 8,990.

Verdict
On spec-sheet, apparently, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 has better specs compared to other two smartphones. It offers larger battery, better camera combination and more expandable storage. Lenovo Vibe P1m has a monstrous battery, yet it lags behind the Redmi 3 in camera and expandable storage departments. The Samsung Galaxy On5 despite its higher price tag, doesn’t offer better specs than the other two smartphones.
