Besides taking wraps off its flaghsip phone Mi 4i, Xiaomi at its global launch event in New Delhi India has launched Xiaomi Mi Band in the Indian market. The Mi Band fitness and sleep tracker was originally unveiled last year in China which now has finally reached Indian shores. The Mi Band allows the users to keep a track on their activity levels, distance walked, calories burnt as well as keeps track of daily exercise goals. Furthermore, if you are wearing Mi Band on your wrist, you can unlock your paired smartphone running MIUI or Android 5.0 with a simple swipe without entering the password or pattern.
The Mi Band packs plethora of features and and does not fail to impress us on design front as well. Coming to the design, the Mi Band features aluminum alloy core surface with a hypoallergenic silicone band. It is water-resistant (IP67) and offers battery life of 30 days. The Mi Band connects to Android smartphone and iPhones via Bluetooth 4.0 and keeps a track on fitness and sleep of the user. Users can also locate their Mi Band, the device will light up and vibrate if it is within the Bluetooth range. It will be available in several color variants- Brown, Blue, Pink, Black, Purple and Grey.

Hands On Review
Although there are many other popular brands offering their fitness trackers such as Fitbit charge, Jawbone which are available in international markets and TomTom, Garmin and the GOQii which are available in the Indian market at much higher prices as compared to Mi Band. Xiaomi Mi Band is apparently the cheapest fitness band and sleep tracker as of now and also offers excellent battery life of up to 30 days.
Price and Availability
Priced at Rs. 999, the Xiaomi Mi Band will go on sale exclusively on company’s mi.com website and registrations will start on April 28. Additionally, the company has announced that first 1000 Mi Band units will be available at Re. 1.
