Now the company has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Honor 8, in India. Boasting its dual camera set up on the rear, it is truly a photographer’s delight. These days, when smartphones fail to offer even one decent rear camera, the Honor 8 sports a brilliant dual camera set up on the back. The smartphone has bionic 12 mega pixel dual lenses on the rear. One of the two lenses captures images in color while the other lens is monochrome (captures in black and white) that gives more sharpness and light to the pictures.

It flaunts its stunning glass and metal design. The phone features a 2.5D glass both on the front as well as on the rear. Adding more charm to the glass design, is a metal frame that runs across the edges. It’s terrific build quality and high-end craftsmanship go hand in hand. It is a well designed and polished smartphone which feels really great in hand.
3. Hardware & Performance
Under the hood, it packs an octa-core Kirin 950 processor paired with T880-MP4 GPU. The phone houses 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory and supports expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD card. We tested it on AnTuTu benchmarks, and got score of around 86600 points. The smartphone handles multitasking and gaming flawlessly. Apps launch quickly and we did not face any lags or stutters during our time with the phone. We played a few games like Asphalt 8 and Frontline Commando 2, which it handled seamlessly. Overall performance of the Honor 8 is fairly fast and it is one of the most powerful smartphones you can buy in this price range.
4. Display
The Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch full HD display with 1920×1080 pixels resolution and 423ppi pixel density. The display is bright and vibrant. The colors and sharpness of the screen are excellent. The viewing angles and sunlight legibility of the screen are also good. Watching movies, playing games and browsing websites on this phone is a delight.
There is an ‘Eye Comfort’ feature that filters out blue light to relieve visual fatigue. With this feature enabled, the screen will have a warm yellowish tint to avoid straining eyes. It comes with a colour temperature adjusting feature as well that alters screen’s white balance, making it warmer or cooler.
5. Battery & Fast Charge
The Honor 8 is backed up by a 3000mAh battery and supports quick charging. It comes with a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfers. On a single charge, the Honor 8 easily lasts for a day on moderate usage. With support for 9V/2A fast charging technology, it charges from 0 to 47 percent in just 20 minutes. Moreover, with just 10 minutes of charge, it offers 2 hours of phone-call time or 6 hours of offline music listening.
6. Fingerprint Sensor & Smart Key
The fingerprint reader of Honor 8 is very fast and accurate in unlocking the phone. Besides unlocking the phone, it comes with a Smart Key feature offering you some customisation options. You can add several functions like sliding down finger on the fingerprint sensor to pull down the notifications panel. You can also swipe your finger right or left on the fingerprint reader to switch to the next or previous photo, when viewing in full screen mode. There are some touch and hold gestures as well like, touch hand hold the fingerprint sensor to take a photo or video, touch and hold to answer a call and more.
